$825.00 NZD SOLD
Flutney Partscaster with B Bender installed. This black guitar has a Nashville setup with 3 pickups and a 5-position switch. This one comes with a Strat style LEFTY maple neck and fingerboard [NOTE: it is a right-handed guitar ! ] The black finish has seen some use and is not in pristine condition, but it isn’t a relic, either. It is fitted with a tortoise pickguard. Built from parts, both old and new, and put together to create a very good workhorse guitar, for both live performance and the recording studio.
Features:
— conventional Tele style Anico 3 bridge pickup
— Strat style Wilkinson middle pickup
— Alnico 3 neck pickup
— 5-position switch allows various pickup combinations and a wide range of tone
I found that the left-handed neck takes some getting used to. It plays like a normal right-handed neck, but I had to get used to looking at that upside-down peghead. The neck is flat and wide (43mm at the nut) like a modern Strat neck would be. For those looking for a vintage style 7.25″ neck radius, this one probably isn’t for you. I tend to favour the old style necks, but this one plays well and I have no problem with it. The larger Strat type headstock and the sealed lefty tuners don’t seem to throw the balance off any.
The B-Bender mechanism works very smoothly and is easy to tune when restringing. It’s a very clean guitar, but the finish is certainly not showroom perfect. The body is from an older guitar that had been repainted somewhere along the line. It has a few minor flaws here and there. It’s a solid guitar and is certainly one of a kind.
Guitar is light-medium weight, approx 6 lbs (3 kg). No hard-sell hereā¦ you either like it or you don’t. If you know about B-benders, you already know how cool this one is. If you don’t know about B-benders, check ’em out. I’m selling these prototypes in NZ only. I don’t make very many, so you won’t see many of them around.
B Benders are not for everyone, but if you’re a guitar picker who wants to head away from the crowd, you might want to check them out.
