3 P/U Nashville Partscaster with B Bender
Another Flutney Partscaster, assembled from parts found lying around, some new parts, and some parts I made myself. The drap looking yellow body has lots of road wear. The newer neck has been played but is in excellent shape. New Wilkinson vintage Kluson style tuners. 3 pickups with a 5-position switch, set up like a Nashville Tele. Switch plate has been reversed so you can do volume swells with your little finger. The 5 switch positions allow for various combinations of pickups.
Alnico 3 pickup in neck, Alnico 5 in bridge, and a hot Strat pickup in the middle. GREAT sounding guitar. Maple neck is fairly flat, smooth and fast. Don’t know the radius, but I’m guessing around 9.5 or 10 inches. Rosewood fingerboard. Classic Tele ashtray bridge with solid brass saddles. The B-bender device is very smooth and positive. Easy to adjust the tuning when restringing.
5-way switch is wired this way:
- 1 (back): bridge pickup
- 2 : bridge + center pickups
- 3: center pickup
- 4: center + neck pickups
- 5: neck pickup
Guitar is reasonably lightweight at a little over 6 pounds. It’s a guitar you can play all night without destroying your neck and shoulders.
