230014 – Flutney Moon Rocket

A one of a kind, the “Flutney Moon Rocket” prototype guitar with B Bender installed. Baby shit yellow body with green mother-of-toilet-seat pickguard. This guitar features THREE (count ’em…) lipstick tube pickups married to a standard Tele style bridge pickup. The lipsticks are wired together in series, as a single pickup. The 3 way switch works like a standard Tele setup.

Maple neck and fingerboard, vintage style tuners (new). Normal wear and tear and small dings, but in good condition. Not for the faint of heart, this guitar is certainly NOT your grandad’s Telecaster.

Features:
— 3 single coil lipstick neck pickups, wired as one pickup
— Alnico 3 single coil bridge pickup

The neck and bridge pickups are wired in series (middle switch position), which adds an extra kick when using them together.

The B-Bender mechanism is smooth and easy to tune. The fretboard is the common one you find on most modern Tele style guitars these days, with about a 9 inch radius. The neck is a bit thicker than most modern necks, and feels more like a vintage Tele. The classic old style tuners (new) work well. It’s a solid guitar and plays like you’d expect.

Guitar is medium weight, approx 6.5 lbs (3 kg). I never do a hard-sell here… you’ll either like this or you won’t. If you know about B-benders, you already know how cool this is. If you don’t know about B-benders, check ’em out. I don’t make very many of these, so you won’t see many of them around.

Okay, this guitar certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a guitar player who wants to head away from the crowd, you might want to check it out.
